The Potter and the Clay

This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord:  “Go down to the potter’s house, and there I will give you my message.” So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel.  But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him. Then the word of the Lord came to me.  He said, “Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel.

Have you ever wondered why you are in that certain spot in your life?  Why the Lord would have you there and what exactly He plans on accomplishing with you and the others around you?  In my life specifically that is definitely something that I wonder but along with that I also know that the Lord has me where I am for a reason and with that I am hopeful and prayerful that I can be moved and taken to the "potters house" and that I wont be hesitant to move but have that sense of willingness just as Jeremiah did. 
The Lord specifically tells him to go to the potter's house because obviously Jeremiah wasn't going to see what the Lord needed him to see where he was.  Then it says, " ...the word of the Lord came to me."  Just by Jeremiahs willingness to move and go where the Lord would have him, he heard what God needed him to hear.  There was no verse that tells us that Jeremiah was reluctant but it clearly says, "So I went down to the potter’s house."  How often do you feel God calling you to a certain place but yet do not go?  Can you even imagine all the wonderful things that we could be witnessing if we would just step out of our comfort zone and rely on the Lord to do work in our lives? 
It is my prayer to be better listener, to respond, and to go to the "potters house" and see what the Lord needs me to see in order to be a better witness and encouragement to others as well as grow in faith and in love. I desire to see God in my life, moving and pursuing me.  I desire to see what all He can do through myself and others just by one simple step.  I desire to be the clay formed solely by the Lord and all His goodness.
